The ultimate goal of the Tennessee  Transgender Task Force is to ensure that transgender individuals have access to the healthcare and other resources that they need to survive and thrive in Tennessee.

The Tennessee Transgender Task Force was created in 2018 to bring together trans-identified individuals across the state of Tennessee by the Tennessee Department of Health to help educate transgender individuals to prevent the acquisition of HIV, increase access to care, and improve health outcomes for transgender people.

In 2022, the Tennessee Transgender Task Force was defunded by the State of Tennessee due to the continued rise of anti-transgender hate across the nation. Since then, the Task Force has continued to provide education and content to transgender people and their allies as Tennessee Trans Lives Matter.

The Task Force comprises trans individuals across Tennessee to reflect our local communities and needs. Since 2018, the task force has been educating people. It has educated individuals from all over the state about how to create a transgender-affirming space, navigate healthcare spaces, harm reduction, PrEP, and other topics that are important to transgender people's lives. Being a resource of the community is the focus of the task force to ensure that transgender people can continue to survive in the state.
